DESCRIPTION:Red Dress Day (May 5) is the National Day of Awareness for 
 Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women\, Girls\, and Two-Spirit and 
 gender-diverse people (MMIWG2S ). This day honours the lives of those who 
 are missing and those who have been taken\, while calling attention to the 
 ongoing impacts of colonial violence and the responsibility we all share in 
 learning\, remembering\, and acting.\n\nTo recognize and honour this day\, 
 ii’taa’poh’to’p Working Circle #3 – Inter-cultural Capacity 
 Building\, in partnership with the Schulich School of Engineering\, 
 welcomes members of our University community to witness a screening of 
 Missing Matoaka.\n\nMissing Matoaka is a powerful documentary that shares 
 the true story of Pocahontas from an Indigenous perspective\, centering 
 truth\, voice\, and lived experience in ways that challenge dominant 
 historical narratives. \n\nTo learn more about the film and the story 
 behind this important project\, you can learn more here.\n\nDate: May 5\, 
 2026\nTime: 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. \nLocation: The Kiipitakyoyis 
 Grandmother's Lodge (3rd Floor MacKimmie Tower)\, University of 
 Calgary\nWho: Anyone is welcome to attend\n\n \n\nRefreshments will be 
 provided.\n\n \n\nFollowing the screening\, participants will be invited to 
 stay for a reflective discussion and shared dialogue.\n\n \n\nImportant 
 Note:\nThis film addresses sensitive and potentially distressing topics. 
 Participants are encouraged to come prepared to practice self-care and to 
 hold space for one another with care\, respect\, and compassion as we 
 engage with this story together.
